Ana Sofia Henao

Ana Sofia Henao is a Colombian beauty who has been the face for Skechers and a bikini model with substantial desktop downloads. She has also been spotted doing pictures for Colombian clothing catalogs, hawking notebooks and even flaunting beer.

Ana Sofia Henao was born on June 19, 1981, in Medellin, Colombia. Before she had even celebrated her 10th birthday, Ana Sofia knew that she wanted to be a model, but a big obstacle stood in her way; her body type. In her own words, Ana Sofia says she grew up "very, very chubby" and did not have the right shape to get into modeling. It didn't help that classmates and neighborhood kids teased her and said that she looked like a barrel.

Just when it seemed like her modeling dreams might be dead before they could start, Ana Sofia lost her baby fat and by 13, her classmates were looking her way again, but this time for flattering reasons. With her confidence regained, Ana Sofia decided to test the modeling circuit and this time, her childhood wish would come true.

When Ana Sofia Henao was 13, she got her first experience as a young model at a 1994 photo shoot that earned her 60 pesos; small change for a high-end fashion model, but to young Ana Sofia, it was a big payday. The money began to flow, as Ana Sofia was getting regular work by modeling seasonal clothes from several Colombian chain stores.   

In 1997, Ana Sofia got the first of several big modeling breaks. She was selected to model for the Onda de Mar catalog, her first major print experience. More breaks followed courtesy of a feature on Ana Sofia in the magazine Shock and a major modeling gig in the catalog for designer Carlos Pinel's clothing line. At this point, Ana Sofia's fame was undergoing a large boost. Ana Sofia was given the nickname "Lolita" for her budding (and youthful) sex appeal and, thanks to a rising modeling career, she quit university to focus on her work.

Thanks to the success of the Carlos Pinel gig, Ana Sofia Henao's career has continually been getting stronger. After Pinel, she modeled for Wexler and was also involved as a model for Scribe notebooks for more than five years. Ana Sofia also got a prime deal to model for Skechers shoes and in 2000, she was named as the most beautiful woman in Colombia in a country-wide survey.

One of Ana Sofia's career highlights came in 2001 when she was named "Angel of 2001" in Colombia, sharing the award with Natalia Paris, a fellow Colombian model who helped pave the way for Ana Sofia. Since that award, Ana Sofia has maintained a steady diet of work that has included bikini modeling and pitches for Cervesa Cristal Oro, a Colombian beer. In addition to her current modeling, Ana Sofia is back in school studying corporate relations and communications, and hoping to get into acting at a later point down the road. Until that day comes, this angelic beauty will continue to grace us with her exotic presence.
